Obedience Level 1: This class is for dogs one year of age and older who have not yet completed either a Puppy 1 or the equivalent at another training facility. The dog will learn to sit, down, stay, come, and walk on a loose lead. Behavior problems such as jumping, counter surfing, getting in the garbage, and barking will be addressed during the training. Trainers incorporate positive reward based training into their curriculum and also a host of games which make learning and training fun for both the dog and the handler. Maximum class size is 10 dogs.
Obedience 2 / Canine Good Citizen (CGC): The emphais of this class is to prepare all handlers and their dogs for the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. Each class session, the handlers and their dogs will learn several new excercises from the test. On the final evening of the class, the CGC test, consisting of 10 different tests or exercises, will be administered to all handlers and their dogs. Dogs must pass all 10 tests to obtain their CGC title. For specific information regarding the CGC test, stop in at our office and pick up a pamphlet which has been published by the AKC or go to the AKC website www.AKC.org.
